Journey to Muuido & Hiking in Yeonsu

We live in the Yeonsu ward of Incheon, a small (by Korean standards) city outside of Seoul. At first glance our neighborhood is an incredibly dense urban area, but if you take the time to go exploring and leave the downtown core you will find that Yeonsu has more to offer. We used our Chuseok holiday to visit Muuido, one of the islands just off of the coast of Incheon, but that didn't work out as we had hoped so we had to try something else. We went, with no expectations or previous knowledge, for a hike on one of the many little mountains, large hills might be more accurate, that surround Yeonsu. We were pleasantly surprised with what we found. Our hike more than made up for the Muuido debacle. There was a good mix of terrain ranging from paved paths to rough rocky trails. We got some great views from the path and we also found out where everyone goes when they aren't working/in school. Hiking is apparently very popular in Korea as there were a lot more people on the paths than the city streets.
